Becconsall Flower Club

About us:

Becconsall Flower Club was founded in November 1981 and at present our current membership is around 75 members.

Our meetings are held at 7.30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of the month in the church hall next to All Saints Church, Station Road, Hesketh Bank.

Throughout the year we have demonstrations by National and Area Demonstrators followed by refreshments and a raffle of the arrangements.   After our Christmas demonstration, members and guests enjoy a delicious ‘Jacob’s Join’ supper. Also at our December meeting, we donate a cheque to our chosen charity.

We have a practice night or fun night during the year, an annual photograph competition and our A.G.M., accompanied by Hot Pot Supper, is in October.

We hold a couple of social events during the summer months - a Coffee Evening and Strawberry Tea in the gardens of two of our club members.   

We arrange outings to gardens and flower festivals.

We have a  Publications Table where NAFAS magazines, cards, calendars etc. can be purchased; a second-hand Book Stall and an occasional Plant Stall.     Flower arranging supplies and accessories can be ordered and there is a Sales Table at our Christmas demonstration.

In recent years, our club has been involved in many flower festivals in the area including Southport, Scarisbrick Hall, Stoneyhurst, Rufford Old Hall and Houghton Tower.   Some of our members have supported many local church flower festivals and we recently hosted a very successful Flower Festival at our local ‘heritage’ church – Becconsall Old Church to help raise funds for its continued restoration.

Our annual subscription is £25.00 and visitors pay £4.00.

We welcome new members and visitors – we are always pleased to see new faces!
