About us:
The Northern Floral Art Group meets usually the third Thursday of each month at the Methodist Church Centre, Waterloo Road, Ramsey IM8 2PB Isle of Man. The club is affiliated to the NAFAS, The National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies of Great Britain. If you like flowers then you’ll benefit from being a member. You will be welcome whether you are a flower arranger, want to learn the art or have no intention of ever putting a flower stem in Oasis. Our annual subscription is just £25.00. At present in our 41st year we hold a membership of 41 members.
Each meeting takes on a different format ranging from open demonstrations led by Area, National and International demonstrators, creating spectacular floral arrangements which are raffled at the end of the evening to the delight of all; to hands-on workshops. Club meetings maybe in the form of an informal demonstration or more social such as a garden visit, or treasure hunt. There is something for everyone! Club members are always encouraged to bring family and friends to these entertaining meetings.
Members are encouraged to participate in shows, both locally and in the UK. The North West Area, the Nationals, RHS Hampton Court have been well represented by club members in the past, and recently amongst the winners at the Chelsea Flower Show and RHS Southport show.
As a club, on a voluntary basis, we try to enrich the community with a fresh floral display which is presented to a local elderly persons’ care home fortnightly. We have now extended this service further into the community by displaying floral arrangements in the local doctors' reception room.
A monthly newsletter is issued keeping you up dated with the club’s news and forthcoming events as well as local and other clubs’ activities.
We are friendly, enthusiastic and have fun with all types of plant material!
