Onchan Flower Club

About us:

Our Club

The inaugural meeting was held in August 1970. We now have forty members and two honorary members. Our age ranges from 30 to 90 years!.

The club is a well established part of the social scene in Onchan village situated on the outskirts of the Island's capital Douglas.

Meetings are held in the Onchan Methodist Church Hall at 7-30pm on the second Tuesday of each month. All members are committed and enthusiastic and we welcome visits from guests and potential members.

The club organises a bi-annual programme of 6 weekly lessons in basic work for new and other interested members. We support and contribute to the Island wide annual Heritage Flower Festival, and provide floral displays for the Royal Chapel at the annual Tynwald ceremony. All club members are involved in these and other events including Agricultural and similar shows.

In 2006 three of our members were part of the NAFAS team who won a Gold at the Royal Horticultural Show at Hampton Court.

Club members regularly attend National and International competitions in the UK.
