Rushen Floral Art Club

About us:

Our present membership is approximately 65, including our very first junior recruits. The club was established in 1970 at the suggestion of Miss Julia Clements, who is still our patron. We meet every third Tuesday of each month with the exception of August, and we are host to four or five North West Area, National and International demonstrators per year.

Our demonstration evenings are held in Erin Arts Centre in Victoria Square, Port Erin.

Club Activities include regular course of lessons for all abilities. We take part in church flower festivals and have held our own floral art exhibitions, one of which was in November of Millennium Year and entitled 'Winter Wonderland'. We are involved in the Isle of Man Flower Clubs' Group gatherings and some of members also belong to the Islands' contemporary group 'Floreat'.

Club representatives have staged at The North West Area festivals in the past and will do so in the future, members have also entered the National competitions and of us represented the Island at the World Show in Glasgow in June 2002 and NAFAS at the Hampton Court Flower Show in 2007 where we gained a Gold Medal

You can see photos of work that our members did  for the 2010 Manx Heritage Flower Festival at the airport, and with Rev MacMillan at a Flower Festival in San Francisco in September 2009 - check out the link below..
