Saddleworth Floral Art Society

About us:

Saddleworth Floral Art Society is situated in the very popular and pretty village of Uppermill and was established in 1971 by a group of local ladies. The club meets on the second Tuesday in the month apart from August and January. These evenings commence at 7.30pm and guests pay £3.50.  We usually have a good attendance.  The annual membership is £23.00. There are tea and biscuits available for a small charge.

We have fund raising events during the year which are held by members of the club, usually to raise funds towards local churches which are holding flower festivals in the area and which committee members and visitors help, either creating designs or helping with refreshments etc.  We also hold an annual Christmas demonstration in aid of Saddleworth Parish Council Chairman’s Charity.

The club assisted with flower festivals in 2007 at Saddleworth Parish Church and St. Mary’s Church in Greenfield. The club also participated in a Tree Festival at Christmas in one of the local small churches. Many of our members also arrange the flowers on a regular basis at their own churches. We have coach outings to various places of interest and last year the club visited Chatsworth Flower Festival and some of the members attended the Demonstrations.

We are a very friendly club and would welcome anyone in the village and surrounding villages to come along and see what they are missing and also perhaps develop an interest in flower arranging.

The meetings are held at the Community Centre, Lees Street, Uppermill, Saddleworth
