What's Happening!

Stanwix Flower club was founded in 1961 by keen gardeners Margaret Lockheart, Helen Atkinson, Mick Schooling, Eileen Lowe and Maureen Bentley. The club originally met on an afternoon in the suburb of Carlisle called Stanwix. The club now meets at the very comfortable Crown Hotel in Wetheral a village just east of Carlisle. We usually meet the third Monday at 7.30pm (no meeting in August) we are lucky to have as our president Derek Armstrong, an International Demonstrator.

This year, 2011 we are celebrating our Golden Anniversary with many exciting events planned.

Our club provides a varied programme which includes demonstrations by national and international demonstrators, workshops, outings to shows, festivals and gardens visits.

 We are an active club that likes to be involved. Many of us participate in festivals and shows but do not be put off if your preference is to watch, come along, there is always a friendly welcome.

 The Club’s chosen charity to support is the Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland
