The Lakes Flower Club
About us:
In 1957 the Woodpecker Society (formed to raise money for Dr Barnado's Society and for the founding of the Abbot Hall Art Gallery) organised a flower festival at the Heaves Hotel. The success of this festival led to the formation of the Woodpeckers Floral Art Society in 1957. In 1958 we affiliated with NAFAS and in 1959 changed our name to The Lakes Flower Club. Over the years the Society held monthly meeting at a variety of venue and members have exhibited far and wide.
The Lakes Flower Club meet in The Kirkland Hall, Kendal on the third Wednesday in each month at 2:00 p.m. when a guest Flower Arranger gives a talk and demonstration
New members are always welcome, the annual membership fee is £27.00. Visitors can attend any meeting (£3.00) but may not attend more than two meetings per year
