Whalley Flower Club
About us:
Whalley Flower Club celebrated its 25th Anniversary in 2009 which proved to be enjoyable, hectic and most rewarding. Club members enjoyed a full and varied programme, our aims for the year being to celebrate and promote the Flower Club.
We certainly managed to celebrate, enjoying wonderful Demonstrations, Party evenings and Workshops. Our second aim was also fulfilled; our membership in 2010 has risen by eleven, from 45 members to 56. We were fortunate to be awarded The Small Club's Bursary and used it to offer a Free Workshop in Flower Arranging to non-members; this proved a great success. We also offered special membership fees for the last three months of the anniversary year and then gave each member a complimentary ticket to bring a friend to a regular monthly demonstration. These events coupled with increased publicity, we even had the Mayoress of the Ribble Valley at our Workshop, and the hard work from our dedicated committee members helped us to achieve our aims.
As well as a full programme of Demonstrations, twenty members attended NAFAS North West Area Member's Day at Southport. A coach party of members enjoyed the Nationals at Harrogate in July where Linda one of our members gained a Highly Commended Award.
We already have a full programme prepared for 2011. Demonstrations; Workshops; Garden Visits and a Coffee morning. We always welcome new members to join us and are looking forward to 2011.
Meetings are held at 7.30 p.m. on the 2nd Thursday of the month, unless otherwise stated, at Whalley Methodist Church Hall, King Street, Whalley.
Annual membership is £27.00 visitors pay £5.00 per meeting which includes refreshments.
