Whalley and District Flower Club
Whalley Flower Club was formed in 1984 and celebrated it's 25th Anniversary in 2009. We had some wonderful events to mark the occasion.
Following the club's AGM in October 2010 it was agreed to change our name to WHALLEY & DISTRICT FLOWER CLUB because we had to relocate from the Whalley venue to a new venue in Clitheroe. As from December 2010 our monthly meetings will be held at St. Michael & St. John's Social Centre, Lowergate, Clitheroe, BB7 1AG. Club nights as before on the 2nd Thursday of the month, with the exception of August, and will commence at 7.30 pm. There is free parking opposite the Social Centre after 6pm.
Our programme for 2012 is complete with demonstrations and several workshops, which are always helpful to new members and friends interested in learning about floral design. Each month a Sales Table for members and visitors to purchase items of floristry sundries, books and magazines. We also have a "Method Arrangement" each month, a flower arrangement which has been designed by one of our members, along with the details of "how to do" on printed sheets.
Our members take part in local church and Area Festivals and promote flower arranging whenever we can. Several members have taken part in Shows - Chelsea, Lakeland Rose, Southport, Nationals and thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the Flower Festival at Hoghton "Magical Fairy Tales".
We are a small but enthusiastic club and at the moment have 47 members.
We are looking forward to the New Year with our newly elected Chairman Carol Riley, and welcoming new and past members.
