About us:
Welcome to the Wigan Flower Club Website. Its a pleasure to give you information about our club.
We meet on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at St. Michael's Parish Hall, Shaw Street, Swinley area of Wigan. WN1 2BD at 7.15pm.
At these meetings we have demonstrations of fresh flowers by qualified demonstrators from the Nafas Association of Flower Arrangers. The arrangements are raffled at the end of the evening.
In April 2008 we celebrated our Sapphire Anniversay (45 years) with a fabulour demonstration by Jonathan Moseley and thanks to the sponsorship of several local business and to members and friends we raised £700 for Wigan & Leigh Hospice. In the summer we held a Strawberry Fayre which allows us to support local charities.
Our Chairman Pat Tate & the Committee, members and friends of the club enjoy the companionship of spending an evening with others of like minded interests, as is proved by the lively and cheerful chatter prior to the Demonstation. We relish the challenge of Church and Area Festivals and have been involved on many occasions over the years, including at our local Hospice, Stonyhurst and Hoghton Towers
In December 2009 we decorated part of the Long Gallery at Lytham Hall Festival 'Christmas Tide'. Our theme was the Epiphany, What a fantastic experience!
Our yearly subscriptions are £22.This is for 11 meetings and visitors may attend any two meetings paying just £3.50 per meeting.
We welcome New Members.
At the meetings you can visit our Publications Table and get the Flower Arranger Magazine at a reduced rate. We also have a Trash & Treasure stall.including containers donated by members.
We invite you to visit us and see for yourself. If you wish to become a member we would make you very welcome. So whether you enjoy arranging flowers or just like to watch others this is the place for you.
We are looking forward to a full and varied programme in the coming months. One of them being a trip to Windsor, London Town, Hampton Court and Wisley Gardens in May 2010.
