As we see how others create floral designs, many of us become more confident and show stronger interest in how we can expand our own floral creativity.
We are encouraged to experiment with different fresh materials, often using techniques from other Arts and Crafts.
As the world today is becoming a `smaller place`, both with International travel and the internet, it means that we are exposed to influences from Europe and the rest of the World.
Many Artists have used the media of plant or natural life, two most notable are Anya Gallaccio and Andy Goldsworthy. Most certainly Andy has influenced many floral designers not only in Britain but around the world. The Japanese, whose heritage of high regard for floral design and love nature as a nation, have been extremely influenced by Andy’s work which in turn has filtered back through the exchange of floral designer from Europe and their inter-relationship with Japan.
Recent new relationships have started to be forged with China, so we can expect more cross fertilization of ideas which will push our own boundaries and ideas of design `out of the box`.
