Festival of Flowers at Hoghton Tower

In celebration of 50 years of The North West Area of NAFAS, this Festival of Flowers staged in the Grade I listed building of Hoghton Tower, Nr Preston proved to be a resounding success enjoyed by almost 5,000 visitors.

As we all enjoyed the Autumn sunshine with which we were blessed, Clubs and individuals created stunning and magical interpretations of well-loved Fairy Tales too numerous to mention. The Yellow Brick Road led the way from the Fairy Gates, through the Emerald City into the Tower itself where all manner of tanklements, foliage and flowers of every description were so expertly designed displaying the wealth of talent amongst our members.

I take this opportunity to thank everyone who contributed in any way to the success of this magical event which will long be remembered by thousands and it is my pleasure to thank you all on behalf of our chosen Charity The Make-A-Wish Foundation UK to whom we have made a donation of £5,000.

The accolades following the event have been fantastic and so very much appreciated by the Management Team who although exhausted, were so very happy with the outcome.
