2009 SHOW NEWS:
We have had a good start to the show season. Bolton Floral Art Group represented The North West Area at The Malvern Spring Show they produced a lovely design titled “Our Heritage” inspired by the cotton mills and achieved a bronze medal. Thank you Jackie and your team, you had quite a challenge juggling the time with Westminster Abbey, then going on to The Chelsea flower show with juniors and returning with 3 silver medals.
Also at Chelsea; Don Billington and Ken Hough gained bronze for Maghull, Carlisle Flower Club brought home a Silver and Alison Lowe of Whitehaven Flower Club won a Silver. True to form Carlisle team also gained a 1st and Best in Show at Holker Hall. Ken Hough won at Malvern and Jane Burns did well at Harrogate. Stanwix Flower Club won the Club Class at Carlisle Spring Show. Congratulations to you all.
Also to Tom Hodge won a Silver award whilst representing N.A.F.A.S at “Canada in Bloom”
Congratulations go to Noreen Fishburn and Lynda Stoker who represented The North West Area at The Nationals in July, they won the Area class with their design “The Past is Another Country” which was inspired by the disappearing rainforest.
The Northern Floral Art Group team, led by Margaret Parr, represented the Area at The Southport Flower Show (20th - 23st August) and were awarded a Silver for their design, “The Roaring 20’s”.

Lytham Hall `Christmastide` Festival
The final of the trilogy of The North West Area Christmas Flower Festivals held at Lytham Hall, Lytham St Annes has been a huge success.
Our designers for the Festival, Karen Schofield and Joan Twigger really did have some very inspirational and imaginative ideas which were interpreted and created by the many talented members of The North West Area.
Over 3,500 visitors came and admired the magnificent Hall “all wrapped up for Christmas” and admired the creative talents and skills of our members.
As Festival Chairman I would like to extend my grateful thanks to The Festival Committee - all playing an invaluable and committed role – and working as a great team. And to everyone who contributed in any way to another successful Festival on behalf of The North West Area.
